Horizon - Micranthemum sp. Pearl White is available for pre-order – please confirm stock before ordering!
Micranthemum tweediei ‘Pearl White’ is a rare and visually striking foreground plant, prized for its compact growth and unique pale, pearlescent tones. This cultivar is derived from the well-known Micranthemum Monte Carlo, a species widely used in aquascaping for its ability to form dense, low-growing carpets.
Under optimal conditions, this plant spreads horizontally through creeping runners, gradually forming a lush, compact carpet across the substrate. Its fine texture and low height make it ideal for foreground placement, Iwagumi layouts, and detailed nature-style aquascapes.
Unlike standard green varieties, ‘Pearl White’ offers delicate white to pale highlights that create contrast and visual depth in planted aquariums. This coloration is best maintained under high lighting and CO₂ injection, making it most suitable for high-tech setups.
Establishment can be slow when transitioning to submerged growth, as the plant adapts from tissue culture conditions. Once rooted, it develops a stable carpet that responds well to regular trimming and maintenance.
This plant is supplied in a sterile tissue culture medium, ensuring it is free from pests, algae, and contaminants. Tissue culture plants are grown in vitro using nutrient-rich gel, promoting healthy and clean introduction into aquariums.
