Dennerle Nano Catappa Barks provide a natural way to condition aquarium water while creating a more authentic, tropical environment for fish, shrimp and other freshwater inhabitants.
Made from the bark of the Indian almond tree (Terminalia catappa), Catappa Bark provides the same beneficial natural substances associated with Catappa leaves, but unlike the leaves, the bark is not quickly decomposed or eaten. This makes it particularly useful for longer-lasting natural water care while also adding an attractive botanical element to the aquarium.
100% natural Indian almond bark
Provides natural water care for freshwater aquariums
Helps create tropical-like aquarium conditions
Particularly suitable for shrimp, crabs and fish
Supports the natural protection of the mucous membranes
Helps protect aquarium inhabitants against infections
Particularly recommended for heavily populated aquariums
Longer lasting than Catappa leaves
Provides an attractive, natural decorative element
Ideal for botanical and natural-style aquariums
Indian almond bark releases naturally occurring substances into the aquarium water, helping to reproduce some of the conditions encountered by tropical freshwater species in their natural habitats.
Dennerle particularly recommends Catappa Bark for aquariums with higher stocking levels, where maintaining good water conditions and supporting the natural protective functions of aquarium inhabitants are especially important.
Both Catappa Bark and Catappa Leaves originate from the Indian almond tree and provide similar beneficial natural substances to the aquarium.
The important difference is that Catappa Bark is not decomposed or eaten in the same way as the leaves.
This means the bark can remain in the aquarium for longer and also functions as a natural decorative element, making it particularly attractive for botanical, blackwater-inspired and natural aquarium layouts.
Use approximately:
4 cm of Catappa Bark per 10 litres of aquarium water.
Do not overdose.
Replace the bark after approximately 2–3 weeks, or leave it in the aquarium afterwards as a natural decorative element.
Important: If Catappa Leaves or alder cones are being used at the same time, reduce the recommended dosage by half.
