Dennerle KH+ Elixier is a freshwater water conditioner designed to quickly and safely increase carbonate hardness (KH) and help stabilise the aquarium's pH value.
Carbonate hardness plays an important role in maintaining stable water conditions. If KH is too low, the aquarium may have insufficient buffering capacity, making the pH more susceptible to unwanted fluctuations.
KH+ Elixier provides a simple and readily soluble way to adjust carbonate hardness to levels appropriate for the aquarium's inhabitants.

Carbonate hardness acts as an important buffer for pH in freshwater aquariums.
When KH is very low, the water has less capacity to resist changes in acidity, which can result in unstable or rapidly changing pH conditions. Maintaining an appropriate KH therefore contributes to a more stable aquarium environment.
The ideal KH is not the same for every aquarium and should be selected according to the requirements of the fish, shrimp, plants and other livestock being kept.
Dennerle KH+ Elixier is particularly useful when working with reverse osmosis water.
RO water contains very low levels of dissolved minerals and has little buffering capacity. KH+ Elixier allows the carbonate hardness to be increased in a controlled manner before the water is used in the aquarium.
This makes it particularly useful for aquarists who prepare their own water and want greater control over aquarium water parameters.
