DESCRIPTION

Introduction:

Anubias barteri var. nana, commonly known as Anubias Nana, is one of the most popular and resilient aquatic plants in the aquarium hobby. Native to the freshwater rivers and streams of West Africa, this compact plant is loved for its deep green, oval-shaped leaves and slow growth. Its ability to thrive in a wide range of conditions makes it an ideal choice for beginners and seasoned aquascapers alike. Anubias Nana can grow both submerged and emersed, making it suitable for aquariums, terrariums, and paludariums.

Care Requirements:

  • Water Parameters: Thrives in a temperature range of 22–28°C, a pH between 6.0–7.5, and soft to moderately hard water (3–12 dGH).
  • Nutrient Requirements: Absorbs nutrients primarily from the water column, benefiting from regular liquid fertilization. It does not require CO₂ but will grow slightly faster with supplementation.
  • Tank Setup: Best attached to rocks, driftwood, or other hardscapes, as burying the rhizome in the substrate can cause rot. Prefers low to moderate lighting, making it an excellent option for shaded tanks and low-tech setups.

Care Tips:

To prevent algae buildup on its leaves, avoid placing Anubias Nana under direct, intense light. Gently clean the leaves when needed and trim any aging foliage for a neat appearance. Secure it to hard surfaces using thread or aquarium-safe glue for optimal growth and stability.

With its lush green leaves, compact size, and hardy nature, Anubias barteri var. nana is a perfect choice for aquascapes of all styles. Whether used in nano tanks, midground placements, or as a feature in low-maintenance setups, it adds a touch of natural beauty while requiring minimal care.

Note: Images are for display purposes only; as a natural product, individual plants may vary. Please ensure you have selected either the net pot option or loose plant option before purchasing.
