The Aquapro Glass CO₂ Drop Checker Kit provides a simple, elegant way to monitor CO₂ levels in a planted aquarium. Made from clear glass and supplied with a 15 ml pre-mixed 4dKH indicator solution, it gives you an easy visual indication of whether CO₂ levels are too low, within the desired range, or too high.

As CO₂ from the aquarium water moves into the air chamber inside the drop checker, it interacts with the indicator solution, gradually changing its colour according to the CO₂ concentration in the aquarium.

Understanding the colour

🔵 Blue – Low CO₂
CO₂ levels are below the desired range for optimal plant growth.

🟢 Green – Optimal CO₂
Indicates a suitable CO₂ level for a healthy planted aquarium.

🟡 Yellow – High CO₂
CO₂ levels are too high and may pose a risk to fish and other livestock.

How to Use

Add the indicator solution to the drop checker, invert it so that an air pocket remains trapped inside, and attach it to the aquarium glass using the supplied suction cup. The opening of the drop checker should face downward.

Allow sufficient time for the indicator to respond to changes in CO₂ levels — a drop checker should be used as a general CO₂ monitoring tool rather than an instant reading device

Tip: Position the drop checker away from the CO₂ diffuser for a better indication of how effectively CO₂ is being distributed throughout the aquarium.
