Cubango Sand 1.0 mm is a naturally styled decorative aquarium substrate featuring a rich blend of warm beige, golden, cream, soft brown and subtle grey tones.
Its approximately 1 mm grain creates noticeably more texture than a very fine sand while still maintaining the soft, cohesive appearance needed for natural aquascaping. The variation between individual grains gives Cubango a beautifully organic character, reminiscent of the mixed sediments found along natural waterways.
The warm, neutral colour palette makes it exceptionally versatile, complementing aquatic plants, driftwood and a wide variety of aquascaping stone.

Cubango's strength lies in its balance between sand and texture. It is fine enough to create a cohesive foreground or pathway, yet the individual grains remain visible enough to add detail and character to the layout.
The combination of cream, beige, gold, grey and earthy brown prevents the substrate from appearing flat or artificially uniform. Against green aquatic plants it creates warmth, while alongside natural wood and stone it blends easily into the overall hardscape.
Cubango 1.0 mm works beautifully as a standalone decorative substrate, but it is particularly effective when used around rocks, wood and planted areas to soften the transition between different elements of the aquascape.
For layouts where greater texture is required, it can also be paired with the Cubango 1.6 mm grade, allowing the aquascaper to introduce subtle changes in particle size and create a more naturally layered riverbed appearance.
