Hygrophila polysperma is one of the most adaptable and fast-growing aquarium stem plants. Its fresh green foliage quickly creates volume in the background, while good lighting can bring a subtle reddish-brown tone to the newest growth.
Because it grows readily across a wide range of conditions, it is especially useful in newly established aquariums where fast plant growth can help take up excess nutrients. Regular trimming keeps it compact and encourages side growth, and cuttings root readily when replanted.
