Warm natural tones, blended textures and endless aquascaping possibilities.
Estuary Blend Sand is a naturally styled decorative aquarium sand featuring a beautiful mixture of warm beige, golden, honey, cream, soft brown and subtle grey tones.
The varied colouring gives the substrate depth and character without becoming overpowering, creating the softly mixed appearance associated with natural riverbanks and waterways.
Available in three grain sizes — 0.2–0.5 mm, 0.5–1.0 mm and 1.0–2.0 mm — Estuary Blend allows the aquascaper to choose a finer or more textured finish, or combine the different grades to create natural transitions throughout the layout.
0.2–0.5 mm – Fine Sand
The finest grade, ideal for smooth foregrounds, delicate pathways, open sandy areas and finer detailing within the aquascape.
0.5–1.0 mm – Sand
A versatile intermediate grade with more visible grain definition while retaining the appearance of a refined natural sand. An excellent all-round choice for foregrounds, pathways and broader sandy areas.
1.0–2.0 mm – Coarse Sand
The most textured grade in the range. Individual grains become more prominent, adding greater depth and visual detail around stone, driftwood and planted areas.
This is where Estuary Blend becomes particularly useful for aquascaping.
Natural waterways rarely contain particles of one perfectly uniform size. Combining different grades allows you to recreate those subtle changes in texture while maintaining the same overall colour palette.
Use 0.2–0.5 mm for the finest areas and pathways, transition into 0.5–1.0 mm, and introduce the 1.0–2.0 mm grade around rocks, driftwood and along the edges of the layout.
The result is a more layered and organic appearance without needing to introduce a completely different substrate.
Three grain sizes • Warm natural tones • Beautiful colour variation • Excellent for layering
Estuary Blend has a wonderfully balanced colour palette. The mixture of golden, cream, tan, brown and subtle grey grains creates warmth without appearing excessively yellow or orange.
It pairs beautifully with driftwood, natural stone and green planting, while the three available grain sizes give aquascapers greater control over texture and scale.
Use a single grade for a more uniform finish, or combine all three to create the subtle variation that can make a carefully designed aquascape feel considerably more natural.
Preparation:
Rinse thoroughly before use to remove dust and loose particles.
