Anubias barteri var. nana 'Super Petite' is one of the smallest and most sought-after Anubias varieties in the aquarium hobby. This miniature rhizomatous plant produces tiny, rounded leaves in rich shades of deep green, creating a compact and refined appearance. Its small scale makes it particularly valuable for nano aquariums, detailed hardscape layouts, and aquascapes where precise plant placement is important.
Despite its delicate appearance, Anubias 'Super Petite' is exceptionally hardy and easy to maintain. It grows slowly and performs well in low-tech aquariums without requiring intense lighting or CO₂ injection. The plant is best attached to rocks, driftwood, or other hardscape features, where its creeping rhizome will gradually form dense clusters of miniature foliage.

This Horizon plant is supplied as an in-vitro tissue culture plant, produced under sterile laboratory conditions. Tissue culture plants are supplied free from algae, snails, parasites, and pesticides, making them an excellent choice for planted aquariums, nano tanks, and shrimp aquariums.
Before adding the plant to your aquarium, carefully remove it from the tissue culture cup and rinse away all nutrient gel using clean aquarium water. Gently divide the plant into several smaller portions before attaching them to rocks, driftwood, or other aquarium hardscape.
As a rhizomatous plant, Anubias 'Super Petite' must not have its rhizome buried beneath the substrate. Burying the rhizome can restrict water circulation and cause the plant to rot. Attach each portion to hardscape using aquarium-safe glue, cotton thread, or fishing line, or gently wedge it into a suitable crevice.
Low to medium lighting is recommended, as the plant's slow-growing leaves may develop algae under excessive light. CO₂ injection is not essential, although it may improve growth, leaf density, and overall plant condition. Stable water parameters, gentle water flow, and occasional liquid fertilisation will support healthy long-term growth.
Some tissue culture plants may experience temporary transition melt while adapting from laboratory-grown conditions to submerged aquarium growth. This is a normal acclimation response, and healthy new leaves should develop once the plant becomes established.
