Horizon - Drosera Spatulata Labill is available for pre-order – please confirm stock before ordering!
Drosera spatulata, commonly known as the Spoon-Leaved Sundew, is a small carnivorous plant recognized for its compact rosette form and glistening, sticky leaves. Native to parts of Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, this species captures small insects using mucilage-covered tentacles on its leaves.
When exposed to suitable lighting, the plant develops attractive red to pink coloration, while the sticky droplets give it a distinctive, dew-covered appearance.
This species remains relatively small, making it ideal for windowsills, terrariums, and small plant displays.
The plant forms a low-growing rosette of spoon-shaped leaves, each covered in fine tentacles that secrete sticky droplets used to trap prey.
Colouration ranges from green to deep red depending on light intensity, with stronger light promoting more vibrant tones.
Drosera spatulata is considered one of the easier sundews to grow, adapting well to indoor environments when proper water and light conditions are maintained.
This plant naturally attracts and digests small insects. Supplemental feeding is not necessary when grown in environments where insects are present. Avoid fertilising the soil, as carnivorous plants are adapted to low-nutrient conditions.
Supplied as a potted plant, ready to be placed directly into your growing environment with minimal disturbance.
Please note: Images are for display purposes only. As plants are natural products, variations in size, shape, and color will occur.
