Micranthemum callitrichoides ‘Cuba’ – Tissue Culture

Micranthemum callitrichoides ‘Cuba’—often simply called HC Cuba—is one of the most iconic and sought-after carpeting plants in aquascaping. Known for its tiny, bright green leaves and dense, compact growth, this species creates a lush, vibrant carpet that instantly elevates any layout. As a tissue culture, it arrives clean, pest-free, and ready to establish quickly under the right conditions, making it perfect for creating flawless, foreground greenery.

Key Features:

Premium Nano Carpet: One of the smallest-leaved aquatic plants available, ideal for creating smooth, natural-looking carpets.

Vibrant Green Colour: Produces a rich, bright green mat that enhances depth, contrast, and overall visual impact in the scape.

In-Vitro Quality: Grown in sterile, nutrient-rich conditions, free from algae, pests, and snails—ensuring a healthy, safe start.

High-Impact Foreground Plant: Ideal for foreground and front slopes, filling in quickly under strong light and CO₂ injection.

Care Requirements:

Lighting: Requires moderate to high light to maintain compact, low growth and to encourage quick carpeting.

CO₂: Strongly recommended. CO₂ supplementation significantly improves health, speed of spread, and density.

Water Parameters: Prefers soft to medium water. Ideal pH is 5.5–7.0 with temperatures between 22–28 °C.

Trimming: Regular trimming encourages horizontal growth and keeps the carpet thick and healthy.

Planting Tips:

  • Rinse the nutrient gel thoroughly before planting.

  • Divide the tissue culture into multiple small clumps and plant them a few centimeters apart to promote even carpeting.

  • Ensure good light and stable CO₂ levels to help the plant root quickly and spread smoothly.

  • Avoid shading from larger plants to maintain its compact, low-growing form.
