Meadowbank River Sand is a fine decorative aquarium sand with a beautifully understated blend of soft off-white, pale grey, cream and subtle earthy tones.
Its delicate natural colour creates the appearance of a softly weathered riverbed without the stark brightness of a pure white substrate. This makes it particularly versatile for nature-style aquascapes where the substrate should complement the hardscape and planting rather than dominate the overall composition.
The fine texture creates smooth foregrounds and flowing pathways, while the subtle variation between individual grains adds just enough detail to maintain a natural appearance.

Meadowbank River Sand is an excellent choice when you want a lighter substrate without making the sand itself the focal point of the aquascape.
Its soft neutral colouring works particularly well with natural wood, darker stone and green planting, while its fine grain allows you to create clean pathways and open spaces between planted areas.
It can also be combined with coarser gravel and small stones to create more realistic transitions around hardscape and reproduce the layered appearance of a natural riverbank.
This distinction could actually help customers choosing between the two.
Natural Rice White Sand has a brighter, warmer appearance with more visible cream, beige and golden variation.
Meadowbank River Sand is softer and more muted, leaning towards pale grey, off-white and neutral tones.
So I would think of Natural Rice White as bright and fresh, while Meadowbank is softer and more understated.
