Mixed Pebbles are naturally rounded stones in a variety of sizes, shapes and earthy tones, perfect for adding a softer, river-worn character to aquariums, paludariums and natural hardscape layouts.
As a mixed natural product, the pebbles feature a variety of earthy colours and tones, which may include shades of grey, beige, tan, brown, ochre and other natural variations.
When dry, the colours generally appear softer and more muted. Once wet, the natural tones become deeper, warmer and more defined, revealing subtle colour variations that may not be immediately visible when the stones are dry.
Their naturally rounded and weathered appearance provides a very different aesthetic from sharp or highly textured aquascaping stone.
Mixed Pebbles are particularly effective for creating natural riverbeds, stream-inspired layouts, shoreline details and transitions between larger hardscape elements.
Different sizes can be combined to avoid an overly uniform appearance and create the type of variation normally found in nature. They can also be scattered around larger rocks or wood to soften transitions and make a hardscape appear more established and natural.
Mixed Pebbles pair beautifully with larger hardscape stones, driftwood, natural sands and gravels, mosses and aquatic plants.
For a particularly natural appearance, use a combination of different pebble sizes together with finer gravel and sand to create a gradual transition rather than a clearly defined edge.
