DESCRIPTION

Anubias barteri var. coffeifolia – Potted Plant

Anubias barteri var. coffeifolia, commonly known as Anubias Coffeifolia, is a distinctive aquatic plant admired for its large, textured, coffee-colored leaves with prominent veins and a wavy structure. Highly valued in aquascaping, this hardy, low-maintenance plant adds striking visual interest and works well in both submerged aquariums and emersed paludariums.

Key Features:

Textured, Deep Green Leaves: Large, wavy foliage with pronounced veins adds depth and a unique look to any aquascape.

Slow Growth: Minimal pruning required, making it ideal for low-maintenance setups.

Hardy and Versatile: Thrives in a wide range of conditions, suitable for attaching to hardscape or planting in substrate.

Ideal for Low-Tech Setups: Performs well under low to medium lighting, perfect for beginners and advanced aquarists alike.

Care Requirements:

Lighting: Low to medium lighting preferred; avoid excessive light to prevent algae growth on leaves.

CO₂: Not required, though supplementation can encourage more vigorous growth.

Water Parameters: Thrives in pH 6.0–7.5 | Temperature 20–30 °C. Adaptable to minor fluctuations.

Growth Rate: Slow; steady growth with minimal trimming needed.

Trimming: Remove older or damaged leaves to maintain plant health and appearance.

Planting Tips:

  • Do not bury the rhizome in substrate; attach to driftwood, rocks, or other hardscape features using thread or fishing line until it anchors naturally.

  • Resistant leaves make it ideal for aquariums with fish and shrimp, providing shelter and protection.

  • Moderate water flow helps keep debris off leaves and maintains vibrant, healthy foliage.
