UNS Controbase

Ultum Nature Systems Controbase is a nutrient-rich base substrate designed to provide long-term support for planted aquariums. Made from highly porous pumice stone infused with slow-releasing Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, and essential trace elements, it promotes healthy root development, balanced nutrient levels, and optimal plant growth.

Its larger 6–8mm granule size allows excellent water flow and oxygen circulation, creating the ideal environment for beneficial bacteria to thrive—enhancing plant vitality and overall aquarium health.

Key Features

Pre-bagged in convenient mesh filter bags for easy placement, removal, and reusability.
Can be stacked to create varying slopes and elevation for aquascaping layouts.
Nutrient release lasts approximately three months.
Best used with UNS Controsoil or Controsand layered on top, depending on your aquarium setup.

Important Notes

Do not wash before use.
Place the mesh bags directly into the aquarium—do not remove Controbase from the mesh bags.
Ensure at least 2 inches of substrate (soil, sand, or gravel) is layered above the Controbase for best results.
